Letter to Danda

Sir/Madam,

I was introduced to your site today [03/04/2012] by my husband. He pointed out to me that at the bottom of this page http://www.danda.org.uk/pages/neuro-diversity.php a reference is made to “leaky gut”. I do hope that you are aware that no such condition exists, at all. “Leaky gut” was proposed by Andrew Wakefield in 1998 as a mechanism by which vaccine strain measles could cause autism. This work, as I am sure you know, has been thoroughly discredited as has the fraudster, Wakefield, himself.
The inclusion of this fabricated condition on your website is counter to your stated aims and is intrinsically linked to the notion that autism is an injury and a form of poisoning – a notion that many individuals who are on the autistic spectrum or care for individuals who are have to fight on a daily basis. Unproven and even dangerous “treatments” for autism have been devised taking the “leaky gut” fallacy as a starting point. I believe that you should remove the reference as its inclusion on your otherwise excellent site lends it validity.
If you should wish to discuss this matter further, please do not hesitate to contact me via this address.
Your’s etc…
