By day: mum of an autistic tot. By night: mum of an autistic tot.
The Pwd has been back at school for about three weeks now. Summer seemed never ending! It was a pretty hot one and, just like his mammy, the Pwd doesn’t enjoy the heat. What makes it doubly uncomfortable for him is that he refuses to drink anything other than paediasure. Obviously, we can’t give him too much of the stuff or he will become overweight. Plenty of water play helped keep him cool. It was tough going at times but, on the whole, I think he enjoyed Summer.
During the holidays, the boy seemed to find his appetite again. He was hooked on croissants for about a month but will no longer eat them. He has tried a variety of foods and while only grainy bread with lots of seeds is the only new one that’s stuck he’s no longer absolutely fearful of food. Garlic bread is back on the menu too!
That clever boy of mine has started to show that he can identify letters. He’s not spot on 100% of the time but he’s getting there. I love the way he says Q – coo. OMG! that boy is cute. As well as letters, he is counting. It’s hard to say if he understands the concept of number but he can count to ten – usually skipping 9. Most heart meltingly for me, though, is I am Mumumummiss. I could eat him up!
